5th January 2021 - Update: Lockdown 3
Following the recent announcement of the country entering our 3rd lockdown we can remain open to all daycare customers, please book in the usual way.
Our drop off & pick-up procedures still remain closely monitored and the wearing of face masks and social distancing in reception must be adhered to.
Unfortunately while we are in lockdown we have to cancel our Saturday morning puppy parties. These will reconvene once we are out of lockdown or restrictions are lowered.
23rd September 2020 - UPDATE: COVID-19
BUSINESS PROCEDURES & INFORMATION
Following the recent government announcement with regards to the increase in COVID-19 cases, we have revised and improved our procedures to help protect our staff and customers.
As from Thursday 24th September, we politely request that all customers wear face mask at drop off and pick up times.
We will install a new hand sanitation point just outside the main entrance, as well as making a hand sanitiser available on the reception counter.
We will also increase the frequency with which we sanitise your dog’s lead; please therefore don’t be concerned if your dog’s lead appears damp upon collection.
Our staff have all be retrained on social distancing and we will maintain strict measures within the arena.
With your support and our continual monitoring of procedures, we are confident that we can remain open with a full level of service, without any cause for concern.
While still recovering from this summer’s lockdown, we are keen to avoid any second wave having a detrimental effect on the business, as this could impact us all. It’s important that we maintain a high level of communication and at the same time, retain the number of dogs coming each day, to continue our recovery from the summer.
Without you, the customer, there is no Happy Dogs!
Don’t forget we are still offering dog baths, pampers, ear cleaning and nail trims, as well as having a fully stocked shop. Your help in supporting these additional services is instrumental in the survival of Happy Dogs.
We will continue to give further updates in line with future government announcements, but please be aware that bringing your dog to Happy Dogs is as safe as can be. Given our consultation with Tameside council and their subsequent permission to remain open during a lockdown period, you can have confidence in continuing to do so.

20th July 2020 - Returning customers - UPDATE TUESDAYS ARE FULL
As more customers start to return along with some new customers we have welcomed in the last few weeks, we are beginning to get back to some kind of 'new normal'. As we all get used to returning to this new normal we are limiting our daily number of dogs to a maximum of 30 per day. While we have enough room to accommodate all customers that used us prior to lockdown we can only guarantee to secure your place up to the end of July. Please note Tuesdays have now reached our new capacity so please bear this in mind when planning your return as we cannot allow our numbers to go above 30.
Remember when planning your return make sure you factor in a number of shorter half day sessions to ease your dog into their new routine.

11th July 2020 - Puppy Parties
Today sees the return of our popular puppy parties.
Lots of families have enjoyed the pleasure of new pups during lockdown but now more than ever its important to start socialising your dog and no better way than to encourage them to mix and play in a safe environment.
Due to COVID-19 and to maintain social distancing we MUST have a limit in place of one puppy / one person. Sessions start every Saturday at 9.00am and will finish at 11.00am price is the usual £9. To find our more about our puppy parties or to book on please call Paul or Adam on 07976 443377.
30th June 2020 - Returning customers - HALF DAYS
As we now begin to return to our “new normal,” we have already seen many of our regulars return to Happy Dogs. This has brought with it some issues which we perhaps might not have expected, but in hindsight we do need to address. Several of our dogs have returned with varying degrees of separation anxiety (some quite bad), after spending the last 3 months at home, in constant contact with their owners. This is an issue which we at Happy Dogs, would like to work with returning owners, to combat.
The welfare of your dog has always been of paramount importance to us, so we would like to inform you of a new requirement. Returning dogs who have been away from Happy Dogs during lockdown, will need to return for a number of half day visits to ease them back in gently, before they return to full days. Therefore, before you return to work, now might be the perfect time to book these half days, thereby reducing any anxiety for your dog.

BUSINESS PROCEDURES & INFORMATION
We are delighted that more of our regular pack are returning now lockdown measures have begun to ease; our plan is to remain open full days Mon-Fri, at our usual hours.
All our staff have now returned, and we are managing to operate with a new rota, to enable us to adhere to social distancing procedures. Although this is quite challenging at times, we have managed to maintain a good practice, without any impact on the dogs or our usual activities and games.
As we see a continued increase of returning dogs, we have made a decision that while we are living in a world with COVID-19 restrictions (and safeguarding being at the forefront of everyone’s mind) we will have a new daily maximum number of dogs, set at 30. We are not at this level just yet, however Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays are heading towards that figure.
If you have a recurring booking for regular days, or the full week, then your place will always be guaranteed. If you require ad-hoc bookings or floating days, then we would like you to call or text with at least 24hrs notice to confirm the booking. Some customers prefer to send a text on a Sunday to book their days for the following week.
Where in the past we have always indicated that you can simply turn up as we can always accommodate short notice bookings, this now needs to be regulated better, so please do try to let us know at least the day before, so you are not disappointed if we are full on a particular day.
When we do begin to reach the maximum levels, priority will go to customers on a recurring booking. So, if you can give us fixed days (and stick to them) your place will always be guaranteed. Ad-hoc bookings will be accommodated on a first come first served basis.
Please feel free to chat with Paul or Adam at drop off or pick up to discuss this in more detail, or to clarify any points with this new procedure. With good communication and flexibility, where possible, I'm sure we can work together so no one misses out.
What is most important in our plans over the coming months is the safety and well-being of our staff and your dogs, and with your understanding we hope to continue offering the best service possible.
We have been asked when we can offer nails trims and ear cleaning service. This is now available every day. We also have x2 bath slots available every day too; so you shouldn’t miss out on any additional service you may require.

Please note we cannot offer a de-shed service or detangle matted hair, for these specialist services we can refer you to recommended professional groomers.

We are pleased to confirm that our opening hours are back to normal - Mon to Fri 7.30am to 6.00pm. We have already seen a number of our Happy Dogs family start to return and our COVID procedures are working well.
We can guarantee that all existing customers will have their place reserved until 31st July; we will also be capping our daily maximum at 30 dogs to ensure we meet our stringent social distancing procedures. Please note: we are already approaching full on Tues / Weds / Thurs, so should you wish to begin your dogs daycare sessions again, please call or text to book your preferred day.

You will be pleased to hear that, with immediate effect, we are now back to our normal operating hours Monday – Friday 7.30am – 6.00pm to All customer.
Against all odds we (hopefully) have made it through the worst of the COVID lockdown! That said, we are not yet out of the woods.
We are (and always have been) dedicated to our customers and the care and development of your dogs and will always do everything we can to provide a first class service. To do that, we obviously need to remain open. Over the last 10 weeks, we have suffered severe financial losses and many of our customers have asked us what they can do to help us, quite a number offering to continue paying even though they are not bringing their dogs in. This type of loyalty means a huge amount to us and while we have not accepted any of these kind gestures, we would like to ask you all for a different kind of help in the coming weeks and months, as we foresee a fairly lengthy financial recovery period in front of us.
If you are inclined to help us through the recovery period, we would suggest that you make purchases in our shop and also utilise our bath and pamper facilities (remember we also clip nails and clean ears). With regular baths and shop purchases, we could be back on an even keel by the autumn.

Dear customer, we are delighted to inform you that as from 26th May we will be back open for business as usual. Please note that our social distancing rules and procedures have been approved by TMBC and we are following strict guidelines inside the arena.
It has been a very difficult period for the business and we hope we can bring back the Happy Dogs family and would be delighted if you can once again join us and return some level of normality for our furry friends.
Our drop off and pick up procedure has changed in order to comply with social distancing measures. Payments will be by contactless, cash or if you wish by bank transfer. ONLY ONE PERSON IN RECEPTION AT ANYTIME.
Under our strict monitoring guidelines we can assure you we have the best interest of your dog at our hearts.
Please reply or call to confirm your dog will / will not be attending, we appreciate some dogs may benefit from a more gradual integration.
